A hernia is a weakness or tear in the wall of your abdomen.


1. Incisional hernia:
Occurs at the site of a previous surgical incision anywhere in the abdomen.

2. Umbilical hernia:
Occurs in the umbilical ring, a possible weak spot around the navel.

3. Direct or indirect inguinal hernia:
A direct inguinal hernia occurs near the internal ring. An indirect inguinal hernia occurs at the internal ring. A possible weak spot in the groin in both cases.

4. Femoral hernia:
Occurs high in the thigh, another area of possible weakness, just below the groin.



The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ housed in a depression or pit on the underside of the liver or gut. Gallbladder problems usually begins with severe and prolonged pain that appears at the upper right section of the abdomen, often radiating to the lower edge of the right scapula; usually presents with nausea, vomiting and stomach pain, hyperkinesia and sepsis; not usually produce jaundice (yellow coloring) several complications occur such as abscesses, gangrene or perforation of the gallbladder and pancreatitis, gallstones do not always produce symptoms.

Gallbladder surgery:

It is called laparoscopic cholecystectomy, in which the gallbladder is removed surgically.



The hiatal hernia is an internal hernia in which a portion of the stomach slides into the chest cavity through the esophageal hiatus. Due to frequent relaxation mechanism enfínter acid production usually normal, delayed gastric emptying (50%), causing inflammation of the mucous membrane as a result oesophageal reflux gastointestinal. The symptoms are heartburn and regurgitation, chest pain, sore throat and hoarseness.



Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or hiatus hernia surgery:


Is performed in patients with persistent esophagitis or resistant to treatment (antireflux surgery).
